Back in New York during a heat wave. Decided to stop by one of my favorite restaurants for Italian food. Once again, they didn't disappoint. Once I entered I could sit at the bar or grab a table for one. I chose a table since I was traveling all day and wanted to relax. Wine and Food service was spot on.

La Masseria, located at 235 W 48th St, New York, NY 10036, truly impressed all four of us. We were astounded by the exceptional quality of the food. Let me provide some context for my experience today. As someone who travels extensively, particularly within the USA due to work, I have had the opportunity to dine in some of the finest restaurants across the country. I can confidently say that the Scialatielli with wild mushrooms sauce that I had at La Masseria ranks among the top three pastas I've ever had in the USA. The presentation was understated yet elegant, the portion size was just right, and the taste was absolutely phenomenal--perfectly al dente with a subtly creamy mushroom sauce. The wine and port selection, along with the recommendations from our server, Pascuale, were impeccable. The ambiance was beautiful and cozy, with a delightful playlist softly playing in the background, making conversation easy. To top it off, the volcano dessert was simply delicious. 100% Recommended!!!

Had an amazing time. I'm not sure why there were so many negative reviews about attitudes... I didn't experience any negatives at all! Excellent food. You can tell this was homemade. I sat at the bar and service was great. I'd definitely return!

Make a reservation! Great spot to stop into before the show. I sat at the bar because no reservations were required for bar seating. But I took the last spot! Such a nice little place! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bartender was awesome. So funny and personable. He had some great recommendations. I ended up getting the meatballs app/spaghetti hybrid haha. He gave me the option of a half portion of spaghetti with the option to add either 1 or 2 meatballs. I opted for one. It was delicious! Perfect on a chilly night with a nice glass of red wine. And some freshly grated Parmesan of course!

The ambience was lovely, very traditional Italian feel. Service was good, our server was very attentive and had good suggestions. Food was good overall, burrata was very fresh, pasta was just ok.

A family member recommended this place saying one of the best gnocchi they have ever had as that is one my husband's faves. He said it was good and fresh, but not huge fan of the red cabbage in the sauce. Nice Italian option in theatre area / Times Square. We had a reservation week in advance. They were able to seat us a little early. Friendly and very attentive staff. Large wine list with a variety of options.
